Rome, Vatican & Tuscany Discovery

◷ 7 days / 6 nights ⌖ Italy ★★★★★ Highly rated

Italy contains more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than any other country, and this tour concentrates on the two regions that define the country’s cultural identity — Rome and Tuscany. The contrast between ancient imperial ruins and Renaissance art is at the heart of every day.

Days One & Two: Rome

Arrival in Rome and an orientation walk through the centre — Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. Day two is entirely devoted to the Vatican: the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica with a knowledgeable art historian guide. Early morning skip-the-line access is included to avoid the crowds that form by mid-morning.

Day Three: The Ancient City

The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill fill the morning. The afternoon explores the Aventine Hill and Trastevere neighbourhood, one of Rome’s most authentic quarters, with a pasta-making class in the early evening.

Days Four & Five: Tuscany

A morning train to Florence — the cradle of the Renaissance. The Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia and the Ponte Vecchio define day four. Day five takes a private car into the Chianti wine country for a vineyard lunch before reaching Siena and its extraordinary medieval Piazza del Campo.

Days Six & Seven: Cinque Terre and Departure

A day trip to the five coastal villages of Cinque Terre, linked by the famous clifftop path above the Ligurian Sea. Return to Florence for a final dinner and departure the following morning.
